This term at Welly Wednesday

Bruce Langridge

It has been a brilliant term at Welly Wednesday and I’ve very much enjoyed watching how popular the session has become over the passing months.

I love seeing the regular attendees come back week after week but we have also had children come and enjoy the sessions who are not local but visiting the area on their holidays. My wonderful volunteer Bobby was able to welcome a German family in their native tongue the other week. They had come to the Gardens that day specifically to join our session called ‘Goodnight Hedgehog’.

We have really enjoyed teaching the children about the changing seasons and its impact on the wildlife within our woodland setting.  Have a look through my photos to see some of my perfect moments from this term.

For those of you who don’t know, Welly Wednesday is a pre-school group which takes place in the wonderful woodlands at the Botanic Garden. The children come along with their parent or carer and enjoy spending time in the woods, learning about the wildlife there and the impact of the changing seasons.  Come and join us every Wednesday at 11-12 during term time. Our final 2018 Wednesday is on Wednesday 19th December.
