In praise of volunteers

Calling all volunteers in Carmarthenshire! It is your Special Day on Wednesday June 6 which means FREE entry for you at the National Botanic Garden of Wales.

Come and explore the Botanic Garden, meet our volunteers and discover new, amazing opportunities to help our worthy cause in the fields of horticulture, heritage, history, science and even birds of prey.

June 6 is the Garden’s celebration of those who give their time so generously for causes all over the county and Volunteer Co-ordinator Jane Down says it is going to be a fabulous event: “The Garden relies so heavily on volunteers but we are not alone – the county’s volunteer army is deployed in every walk of life and few aren’t touched by their unstinting and generous efforts.

“We will have plenty of our volunteer team members here to shine a light on the great work they do here but it will also be an excellent opportunities for people to share their stories.”

The Garden is open from 10am to 6pm (last entry 5pm).

Admission to the Garden is £11 (including Gift Aid) for adults and £5 for children five-to-16 years of age. Under 5s are free. Entry is FREE for Garden members and parking is free for all.

Volunteers wishing to claim free entry for June 6 should bring some form of ID with them.
