The Heritage Officer has specific responsibility for delivering the heritage outcomes of the Regency Restoration project. The fundamental objective of this role is to identify, conserve, raise awareness and promote appreciation and enjoyment of the Garden’s rich heritage assets and resources, as a recreational, educational and volunteering asset and an integral part of the Garden’s sustainable development.

Louise studied archaeology at the Institute of Archaeology, University of London, graduating in 1984. She excavated at a wide variety of archaeological sites across Britain and France before working for English Heritage on their Monuments Protection Programme.

She then went on to work as a Curatorial Archaeologist for County Council archaeology services in Essex and Cambridgeshire before moving to Wales in 1998.

Before joining the Regency Restoration Team at the National Botanic Garden of Wales in February 2015, Louise worked with the Dyfed Archaeological Trust, where she was the head of their Heritage Management Service and Deputy Director.
