At Kenfig you’ll find round-leaved wintergreen plant on wet slacks. These are low parts of the dune system where the water table rises near the surface in the winter and falls in the summer.
There are a lot of wet slacks at Kenfig – patches of silt, clay and peat beneath the sand also help to make these dunes distinctively wet and great places to find rare flowers.
