Medusa Head

Euphorbia caput-medusae

Euphorbias are a huge and very diverse group of plants, about 45% of which have developed succulence.

This particular species of Euphorbia grows wild on the rocky coast of Cape Town and is named after the Greek legend Medusa, whose hair was made of living snakes. If you looked at her you’d turn to stone.
