Derwydd Daffodil

Narcissus obvallaris 'Thomas Virescent'

On the grassy path leading up to the Ice House you’ll find this double-flowered curiosity which is thought by some to have originated from the nearby village of Llandybie.

However, others know the Derwydd Daffodil as Thomas’s Virescent Daffodil, a general term for double flowered daffodils that are more green, than yellow, in colour. This dispute may explain why it has no direct botanical name.
