The Backbone of Plas Pilipala: Our Amazing Volunteers

Ardd Fotaneg · Botanic Garden

It’s been a year since Plas Pilipala, our amazing tropical butterfly paradise, opened here at the Garden.  It’s been hugely popular with our visitors, with over 110,000 visitors through the doors so far, but there’s no way the last year would have been such a great success without our fantastic team of Butterfly Rangers!

All our Butterfly Rangers are dedicated volunteers who give their time every week to keep an eye on our caterpillars and butterflies, and to answer all your questions.

I’m sure many of you will have encountered some of the smiling faces in the photo stream above, and know that they are enthusiastic, knowledgeable, friendly, and a great asset to our butterfly house.

Some volunteers have come to us with lots of knowledge of butterflies, but many have come to us not knowing much about butterflies at all, and have learnt so much since beginning to volunteer as a Butterfly Ranger.

We are very grateful for the hard work and commitment of our Butterfly Rangers over the past year in helping us to educate and inspire our visitors. Here’s to many more successful years of Plas Pilipala and our wonderful Butterfly Rangers!

We hope you enjoy the pictures above of some of the many superb volunteers who have helped us over the last year, and of some of our inhabitants of Plas Pilipala too.
